New York, New York –  The BMCC women's volleyball squad's program record eight-game winning streak was ended by the Monroe Express in straight sets on Wednesday evening at BMCC Gymnasium. The victory improves the Express to 13-1 (10-1 Region XV) while the Panthers fall to 9-3 (9-1 Region XV).

Freshman Josanne Lewis (Rochester, Minnesota) led the Panthers offensively and defensively with a game-high 13 kills and eight digs, while sophomore Xheni Doci (Saluzzo, Italy) dished out a team-high 17 assists and tied a game-best with two service aces. 

Emmanuella Aurel(New York, New York) was another key contributor for the Panthers on defense leading the team with three solo blocks and chipped in alongside classmate Garyana Altidor (Queens, New York) with seven digs.

Monroe-Bronx was led on offense by Lisanel Rodriguez, who smashed a team-high 12 kills, while Lesly Almonte and Valery Nunez dropped a game-high tied two service aces each. Almonte also chipped in on offense with eight kills, while Luisanni Rodriguez distributed a game-high 27 assists.

Nunez led the Express on the backline with a game-best 13 digs, while Jaylinne West controlled the front row with a game-high five blocks.
