Panthers fall to Nassau CC at home, 106-80

New York, NY --- Although three members of the Panthers Men's Squad reached double-digit scoring, they were outpaced by the Nassau Community College Lions, 106-80.

"Nassau really made us uncomfortable," said BMCC's Head Men's Basketball Coach, Thomas Keenan. "They got us out of our offense, and the 12-0 run to start the game really hurt us."

Seven of those 12 points were the contribution of Nassau's Sophomore combo-guard, Ahunna Okoko, who flirted with a double-double by racking up 17 points and grabbing eight rebounds for the evening.

"I thought we had a great week of practice, and was initially encouraged by the positive steps we seemed to be making at both ends of the floor," said Coach Keenan.

Jeremiah lead the Panthers in scoring with 26 points, and Jahlil Kearney added 19 points from off the bench. Nelson Benzan grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, and William Brown scored 12 points. He went 4-7 from the three-point line.

"The good news is we have 18 more games left," said Coach Keenan.

The Panthers are now 1-1. They will return to conference play on Tuesday, November 16th on the road against CUNY Queensborough.
