Terrance McBride (Brooklyn, New York) turned away a game-winning three-point attempt at the buzzer to lead BMCC Men's Basketball to a thrilling win, 82-81, over Regional opponent ASA Manhattan on the road Saturday night. The victory extends the Panthers winning streak to three improving them to 9-6 (5-5 Region XV), while the defeat drops the Mad Titans to 9-7 (5-5 Region XV).
McBride and classmate Elvys Ceballos (New York City, New York) both reached the 20-point plateau, with McBride leading the way with 29 points and Ceballos putting up 24 points. Ceballos also posted team-highs with six assists and two steals in the contest to go along with six rebounds.
Classmate Eric Massingale (Brooklyn, New York) grabbed a team-best seven boards, and alongside fellow underclassmen, Malik Bentinck (Queens, New York) chipped in with six points apiece. Freshman Emmanuel Adenekan (Bronx, New York) seven points and hauled down four rebounds on the night.
ASA Manhattan had three players in double-figures, as sophomore forward Justin Wilson led all scorers with 25 points to go along with a team-high tied four assists. Freshman guard Fred Rijos dropped 19 points and also dished out four assists, tying a team-high. Classmate Joseph Hicks chipped in with 12 points on the evening and fellow freshman forward Joshua Been brought down a team-high 12 rebounds.
Notables:
- Terrance McBride (Brooklyn, New York) put up his sixth 20-point game of the season, which is second on the team while recording his sixth performance with 25 plus points for the season.
- McBride also has scored in double figures in all 15 games this season.
- In his first action in 2020, Elvys Ceballos (New York City, New York) put up his fourth 20-point output on the year, which is third on the team.
- BMCC has won three of their first four matchups to begin 2020 while picking up victories in six of their last seven games dating back to last year.
