New York, New York |Â Behind six first-half goals, the BMCC men's soccer team cruised against visiting Orange County Community College, 10-0, on Thursday night at Pier 40. The victory improves the Panthers' record to 3-1-1 on the season, while the Colts fall to 0-5-1.Â
Â
BMCC wasted little time getting on the board, as freshman defensemen
Tyrese Duncan (Georgetown, Guyana) raced down the field and twinkled the twine just a minute into the action. Freshman
Rajay Officer (Portmore, Jamaica)Â doubled the Panther lead only nine minutes later in the 10th minute when tapped home a rebound in the goal box off a corner from classmate
Jhon Calderon (Brooklyn, New York).
Â
Classmates
Boubacar Sarr (Kayes, Mali) and
Mor talla Ndiaye (New York, New York) both connected in the 18th minute to extend the Panther lead to 4-0.
Sarr picked up the helper on
Ndiaye's first of the season.
Â
BMCC scored twice before halftime, as freshman midfielderÂ
Seydou Diallo (Brooklyn, New York) buried a left-footed into the right pocket, and then five minutes later classmate
Hugo Sauriat (New York, New York) notched his first career goal. The Panthers outshot the Colts 30-2 in the first half, taking a comfortable 6-0 lead into halftime.Â
Â
BMCC added a plethora of goals in the first 17 minutes of the second half beginning with freshman forward
Elhadji Ady Gaye's (Dakar, Senegal) marker in the 57th minute, followed by sophomore
Edison Burgo's (Guayaquil, Ecuador) first tally of the year in the 62nd minute.
Gaye would notch his second of the contest in the 79th minute and
Calderon rounded out the scoring in 83rd minute.
Â
In goal, freshman
Apelete Amehon (Kara, Togo (West Africa)Â made one save after facing just six shots (just the one on goal), with four of the six all coming in the second half. It was the first clean sheet of his career. Sophomore Connor Donovan finished the evening with ten saves for Orange County Community College.
