New York, New York | Behind six second-half goals, the BMCC men's soccer team rolled against visiting Rockland Community College, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon at Pier 40. The Panther's second straight victory improves their record to 4-1-1 (3-1-1 Region 15) on the season, while the Hawks fall to 3-5 (Region 15).

BMCC got out to a fast start, as freshman midfielder Seydou Diallo (Brooklyn, New York) scored the first two goals of the game-both in the third minute. Classmates Mohammad Cisse (Bronx, New York) and Michael Konadu (Kwahu, Ghana) both picked up the assist on the two tallies.

Sophomore Rajay Officer (Portmore, Jamaica) tripled the Panther lead in the 38th minute to give them a 3-0 advantage at halftime. BMCC outshot Rockland Community College 26-3 overall in the first half.

Sophomore Hugo Sauriat (New York, New York) kept the Panther offense rolling putting away two goals in the 48th and 50th minute to extend the advantage to 5-0. Freshman Kadhim Alessawi (Iraq) had the assist on Sauriat's second of the day.

BMCC added a deluge of goals in the final 10 minutes, starting with freshman forward Djiby Diallo's (New York, New York) blast from inside the 18 in the 72nd minute off a feed from his brother Seydou. Then Alessawi had another helper on Elhadji Ady Gaye's (Dakar, Senegal) 75th-minute score, followed by Edison Burgo's (Guayaquil, Ecuador) gorgeous left-footed blast in the 77th minute and Diallo's second in the 79th.

In goal, BMCC goalie made three stops and picked up his second straight shutout of the season.

Freshman goalie Kyle Salva finished the afternoon with 14 saves for Rockland Community College.

Up next, the Panthers will begin a four-game road trip starting with a trip to Garden City, New York this Tuesday, Sept. 24 against Nassau County Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. For more information on the game, please visit the BMCC Men's Soccer Schedule Page.
