Panthers Blank Bergen Community College On Road On Saturday, 5-0

Paramus, New Jersey | Behind four second-half goals, the BMCC men's soccer team defeated Bergen Community College, 5-0, on the road Saturday afternoon in Paramus, New Jersey. The Panther's second straight victory improves their record to 2-0-1 on the season, while the Bulldogs fall to 1-4-1.

Freshman forward Elhadji Ady Gaye (Dakar, Senegal) opened the scoring in the third minute, and again his goal proved to be the game-winner for the Panthers. Freshman defenseman Kevin Auquilla (Brooklyn, New York) had the assist. BMCC had several scoring chances in the first half, but BCC freshman goaltender Randal New made eight first-half saves to keep the score at 1-0 going into halftime.

The Panthers blew the game open in the second half scoring three times in the first 14 minutes. Freshman forward Boubacar Sarr (Kayes, Mali) started the rally in the 52nd minute off Aquilla's second assist of the afternoon to make it 2-0. Five minutes later, Jhon Calderon (Brooklyn, New York) twinkled the twine (57th minute) off a beautiful pass from Lamarana Diallo (Ziguinchor, Senegal) before Diallo (59th minute) got his first marker of the day on a feed from Mor talla Ndiaye (New York, New York) to make 4-0.

Diallo got his second of the match (69th minute) off of a rebound to complete the rout 5-0. Fifteen different BMCC players had a shot in the afternoon with Ady Gaye and Diallo leading the way with four apiece.

BCC freshman goalkeeper Randal New made 16 stops in the match.
