New York, New York | The BMCC Men's basketball team upended Bergen County Community College, 96-81, on the road Thursday night in Paramus, New Jersey. The victory gets the Panthers back to .500, at 5-5 overall, while the loss drops the Bulldogs to 1-12.
The Panthers had a season-high six players score in double-figures, with freshman forward Malik Bentinck (Queens, New York) leading the way with his fifth-straight and a team-leading seventh double-double of the season with a team-high 23 points and ten rebounds. Sophomore Shakeem Reid (Brooklyn, New York) dropped 18 points and distributed seven assists, while freshman Damonie Askew (Brooklyn, New York) recorded a season-high 17 points and tied for a team-best with three steals. Sophomore Terrance McBride (Brooklyn, New York) dropped 15 points and dished out a team-high nine assists and tied a team-high with three steals, while freshmen Kadeem Jones (Jamaica, Queens) posted a career-best 12 points and Elvys Ceballos (New York City, New York) chipped in with 11.Â
Bergen County Community College also had six players finish the night in double figures, with freshman guard Macio Robinson leading the way with 15 points. Sophomores Wesley Wright-Holmes and Nick Navarro both chipped in with 13 points, while classmates Michael Gilmore and Floriar Marke both contributed 11 points each. Freshman Joshua Spears finished with 10 points on the night.Â
