Panthers Win Second-Straight, 4-1, On Road Over Dutchess Community College

New York, New York | Three different Panthers scored to lead the BMCC men's soccer team to a 4-1 victory on the road at Dutchess Community College Thursday night. BMCC's second straight win moves them to 6-2-1 overall (5-2-1 Region XV) while Dutchess fell to 0-9 overall (0-6 Region XV). 

The Panther's attack was balanced across eight different players with a total of 20 shots, 16 on the net. 

After both teams played to a scoreless draw for the first 31 minutes, freshman midfielder Mohammad Cisse (Bronx, New York) got BMCC on the board in the 32nd minute. Classmate Seydou Diallo (Brooklyn, New York) assisted on the tally. Six minutes later, a Falcon's own goal put the Panthers ahead 2-0. The score would remain 2-0 going into halftime. 

In the second half, freshman midfielder Michael Konadu (Kwahu, Ghana) set up sophomore forward Lamarana Diallo (Ziguinchor, Senegal) for the Panther's third goal of the match in the 68th minute. The goal was Diallo's third of the season.

BMCC controlled the possession for the rest of the match, then in the 81st minute, Seydou found freshman midfielder Hugo Sauriat (New York, New York), who put it into the back of the cage to make it 4-0. Diallo finished with two helpers on the evening. 

Freshman Brian Quezada scored on a penalty kick in the 85th minute to spoil the shutout for a final score of 4-1.

Freshman keeper Apelete Amehon (Kara, Togo (West Africa) got the victory and made two stops. Falcon freshman Andrew Rathbun was dealt the loss with four goals against, and 12 saves tallied.
