New York, NY | The Panthers were looking for revenge on Thursday night after a narrow 92-95 defeat at LaGuardia last month, but the Red Hawks offense could not be contained and BMCC fell by a final score of 90-63.
Despite a depleted roster, BMCC kept up with the scoring output from the Red Hawks in the beginning of the game, but in the final minutes of the first half LaGuardia began to pull away. A 12-point run by the Panthers would cut the deficit to 8 points, but it would be all Red Hawks after that, as they finished on a 25-6 run for their fifth straight victory over the Panthers.
Jericho Cherisma continues to play well for BMCC, the sophomore was a dominant force on both ends of the court as he finished with 17 points and 24 rebounds (12 offensive) for his 6
th double-double of the season. Freshman
Terrell Fullerton shot 50% from the field on his way to a team-high 24 points, while
Jason Mejia provided 12 points and 6 rebounds after coming off the bench.
BMCC will look to move on from the tough loss and focus on their weekend matchup against the Nassau. The Lions-Panthers game is set to tip off at 2pm on Saturday.
