Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | By Dakota Olson (BMCC Sports Information)

Panthers Keep on Rolling with Win over Orange County

New York, NY  | Another game, another landslide victory for the Men's Soccer team on Tuesday night. With a 6-0 win over their regional opponent, the Panthers improve to six wins and zero losses on the season.

After Alexis Orrego kept the opposing team scoreless in their previous matchup, alternate goalkeeper Edwin Martinez followed suit with a shutout of his own in tonight's matchup. Strong defending from the starting back line of Dazougou Pacode, Kiran Lama, Peter Ceesay, and Christian Pacode kept the Colts from striking a single shot on goal in the first half. With stifling defense, the Panthers were able to control possession the entire game as they fired shot after shot. Despite numerous attempts, none found the back of the net until Ceesay ripped a deep free kick for the opening goal in the 23rd minute.

With 15 shots in the first half, a 1-0 halftime lead was unflattering for BMCC, but they knew if they continued to hit the ball in on goal then shots would begin to find the back of the net. Reigning CUNYAC Player of the Week Serigne Kasse opened up the second half with a goal off of an assist from midfielder Samuel Baafi. Excellent passing from Abdoulaye Gueye would lead to the next 2 goals from Ryo Koiso and Kasse, as BMCC jumped ahead to a 4-0 lead by the 70th minute. After already recording 2 assists, Gueye scored a goal for himself with a header coming from a Kasse corner kick. The final scoring play of the game came when Ulrich Mokolo ripped a shot off the goalkeeper before Alexis Vallejo fielded the ricocheting ball and struck it into the goal.

The Men's Soccer team will return to action this Saturday at 11:00 AM when they take on the Rockland Fighting Hawks at Pier 40.
