The Lady Panthers were unable to erase a 39-30 halftime deficit against LaGuardia and eventually lost to the Red Hawks 97-73. Star freshman Kristen Merrell led BMCC in scoring against LaGuardia with 23 points in addition to her 12 rebounds, six assists and five steals. Captain Luye Murphy netted 18 and recorded four steals. Point guard Mildhreen Cacoque scored nine and dished out six assists.

LaGuardia's Kailyn Richburg led all scorers with 36 points, and Kristen Deer and Sarah Edwards created problems for the Lady Panthers with a combined 26 rebounds.

On Saturday against Bronx, BMCC found themselves in a 32-16 hole at halftime and would eventually go on to outscore the Broncos 28-26 in the second half, but it wouldn't be enough. Bronx fended off the Lady Panthers and claimed the 58-44 victory.

Merrell and Murphy scored 15 points each, with the former recording a season-best 19 rebounds for her fifth double-double in nine games this season. The freshman is averaging 19.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.

Forward Alexis Hart contributed eight points and a season-best 15 rebounds.

Despite shooting better than Bronx (31.6%-27.5%), BMCC couldn't earn the win. Bronx did hold advantages in rebounding (60-46) and turnovers (25-20).

The Lady Panthers are inactive through the holiday break and return to action on Saturday, January 3 when they travel to Suffolk County Community College in Selden, NY for a 1:00 PM tip. The men will follow at 3:00 PM.
