Box Score The #1 BMCC Lady Panthers defeated the #4 Bronx Broncos 74-32 Tuesday afternoon and secured a spot in the CUNYAC Championship. The Lady Panthers will be looking for their 7th CUNYAC/Con Edison Championship and their first title since 2003
The Lady Panthers were led by sophomore Aiyana Harris who posted 11 points and 15 rebounds, freshman Elesha Dieudonne notched another double-double with 10 points and 16 rebounds. Six players in total would score double figures led by Emani Odom and Luye Murphy, who each had 12 points.
The Lady Panthers got a couple of threes from Harris, Odom and Murphy to expand the lead to 25-8. A few minutes later the Panthers would erupt for a huge 14-point run in a little less than four minutes that featured strong defense that lead to poor shots by the Broncos. The Lady Panthers ended the half in control with a 28 point lead.
The second half would be more of the same with BMCC expanding their lead further. Early on it seemed like Bronx would crawl their way back into the game opening up the half on a 10-3 run. The Panthers put out the fire quickly with a 19-2 run of their own to put away the Broncos.
The Lady Panthers advance to the CUNYAC Championship game Friday night at 6pm, where they will play #2 Hostos CC Caimans.
