Lady Panthers Blowout Broncos

Box Score

The Lady Panthers entered play today looking for their first win in the New Year while also looking to remain undefeated in conference play and atop the CUNYAC standings.  BMCC, who began play with a record of (6-4 overall, 4-0 conference), was looking for their second victory of the season against the Broncos of Bronx Community College after previously defeating the Broncos on the road by a score of 63-53 on December 15th.

The Lady Panthers came out strong behind the outstanding play of Denea Fleary(Sophomore, Queens, NY) and Aiyana Harris(Sophomore, Brooklyn, NY).  Aiyana, who scored a game-high 22 points on 50% shooting from the field, also contributed 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.  Denea would not be outdone as she added 20 points of her own to go along with 5 rebounds, 4 steals and a game-high 7 assists.  Elesha Dieudonne(Freshman, Brooklyn, NY) continued her dominance on the glass registering 18 rebounds overall including an impressive 8 rebounds on the offensive end.  In the end it was a total team-effort for the Lady Panthers as every member of the team was able to register at least 2 points and 2 rebounds on their way to a 40-point blowout victory over the Broncos by a score of 68-28.

With the victory, the Lady Panthers improve to (7-4 overall, 5-0 conference) and will return to action this Saturday, January 12th for a Region XV home match-up against the Lions of Nassau Community College at 12pm.  Come out to BMCC and show your support!
