Under Seck’s guidance, the Panthers have won five CUNYAC Community College championships (2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2023) and appeared in eight straight conference finals.
During his nine seasons at BMCC, Seck has guided the Panthers to an overall 72-40-8 record (.633), including a 56-26-5 record (.672) against Region 15 opponents and a 25-7-1 mark (.772) against CUNYAC competition.
Honors have also come Seck’s way as he has been selected CUNYAC Community College Coach of the Year five times, with his fifth selection coming during the Panther’s repeat effort as Conference Champions in 2023 and the four others coming back-to-back during the 2014 and 2015 seasons and again in 2017 and 2018.
In nine seasons as head coach, Seck has mentored 35 CUNYAC Community College Men’s Soccer All-Stars, five CUNYAC Community College Players of the Year, four CUNYAC Community College Rookies of the Year, and two NJCAA All-Americans.
Seck guided the Panthers to the back-to-back CUNYAC Community College Championships for the second time in his career and first since the 2016-2017 season in 2023, leading the Panthers to three straight victories to open the season, their best start since 2017 as they won their first three matches, including posting their biggest scoring output in 12 years and first double-digit goal game since 2019, with 13 markers (all in the first half) during a 13-0 victory over LaGuardia Community College on September 14, 2023. After dropping to 3-4 midway through the season, he rallied the troops with five straight victories to end the regular season, including the program’s first CUNYAC Community College Men’s Soccer Regular Season title since 2018 and finishing up with their second straight and league-best 14th CUNYAC Community College Championship with a 3-2 victory over Kingsborough Community College. The Panthers won six of their last seven matches, with their only blemish coming against the Wave in the 2023 Region XV Quarterfinals at home during a 4-3 loss to end the 2023 season with a 9-5 record. Freshman Mamadou Diallo was named the fifth CUNYAC Community College Men’s Soccer Rookie of the in program history, and Ademola Opesanwo, Abdul Mumin Seidu, and As Mouhamadou Ndiaye were selected as CUNYAC Community College All-Stars. The Panthers also had five All-Region 15 team selections for the second straight season as Mamadou Diallo, As Mouhamadou Ndiaye received First Team honors, Ademola Opesanwo grabbed second team accolades, and Abdul Mumin Seidu and Carlos Auquilla were named All-Region 15 Honorable Mention.
After two seasons off the pitch, Seck helped the program return with a vengeance during the 2022 campaign rallying his team from a 1-3 start to a 5-3 regular season finish that concluded with the program’s league-best 13th CUNYAC CC Men’s Soccer Championship in an exciting 4-2 decision over Queensborough Community College in Penalty Kicks after a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation. The Panthers would fall in Penalty Kicks in the Region XV quarterfinals 5-4 to Westchester Community College to end the season at 6-6-2. Sophomore El Hadji Gaye became the sixth Panther in school history to earn CUNYAC CC Men’s Soccer Player of the Year accolades while also capturing 2022 Championship MVP honors after scoring both regulation goals and notching the game-clincher in penalty kicks for the victory. Ademola Opesanwo, Abdul Mumin Seidu, Alassane Koroma, Michel Mendoza, Bodrul Alam, and Ibrahim Hussein were also selected as CUNYAC CC Men’s Soccer All-Stars. The Panthers also had five All-Region XV selections, with Gaye and Opesanwo landing on the All-Region XV First Team and Seidu and Koroma on the All-Region XV Second Team. Mendoza also received All-Region XV Honorable Mention.
With the program’s all-time leading goal scorer gone at the beginning of the 2019 season, Seck just reloaded and assembled a Panthers squad that put up a 10-3-2 record to capture the program’s 12th CUNYAC Community College Championship, the third in four seasons, in thrilling fashion rallying to a 5-4 decision. The victory in the 2019 Conference finals propelled the Panthers to their first appearance in the Region XV finals since 2012. They fell to 2019 Region XV Champion Nassau Community College by the score of 2-0, and the ten victories were the second most during Seck’s tenure at BMCC. Seydou Diallo was named CUNYAC Player of The Year, burying 11 goals, the seventh-most in a single-season season. His Diallo’s brother Dijiby, Otto Manuel Sabalza, and Michael Konadu were selected as CUNYAC CC All-Stars. Both Diallo brothers were named the All-Region XV First Team, with Konadu earning All-Region XV Second Team Honors and Sabalza grabbing All-Region XV Honorable Mention.
During 2018, BMCC posted a winning mark of 7-5 and went undefeated in the CUNYAC with a 3-0 record. The Panthers reached the CUNYAC Championship for the fifth consecutive season and also were ranked as high as No. 5 nationally in the NJCAA Division III Poll. Sophomore Javaughnie Johnson became the all-time leader in BMCC men’s soccer history in goals with 30. He also earned CUNYAC Player of the Year, while freshman Adrian Santos garnered CUNYAC Rookie of the Year honors. Four members of the team received All-Star honors. Additionally, Daouda Coulibaly became the 10th player in program history to be selected as an NJCAA All-American and the second in as many years.
The 2017 season was arguably the greatest in Seck’s career. The Panthers finished the regular season a perfect 12-0-1, en route to a second-straight CUNYAC Community College title and an appearance in the Region XV semifinals. BMCC’s only loss came against Suffolk County Community College in penalty kicks. The 12 wins tied for the second-most in program history. Two members of the team, Brandon Guzman and Jahvaughnie Johnson, earned CUNYAC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, respectively. Additionally, Guzman garnered NJCAA All-American honors, while his three teammates were named CUNYAC and Region XV All-Stars. For the team’s success, Seck was named CUNYAC Coach of the Year.
The 2016 campaign witnessed the Panthers capture a CUNYAC Community College championship (the first for the program since 2012) with an 8-5 record. In addition, Aboubacar Keita was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Year, while four other players earned CUNYAC All-Star accolades.
In 2015, Seck’s team led the Region with 58 goals. However, the Panthers lost in CUNYAC Conference Championship and Region XV quarterfinals to finish 8-5-1. Serginnne Kasse earned CUNYAC Player of the Year, while five of his teammates were named CUNYAC All-Stars. Seck also received CUNYAC Coach of the Year honors for a second straight season.
In 2014, BMMC finished with a 7-4-1 record and a perfect 4-0 in conference play. The Panthers dominated both sides of the field. They led the CUNYAC in goals with 35 and allowed with 17. BMCC would fall short in the CUNYAC Final and Region XV quarterfinals. Itamar Pereira earned CUNYAC Player of the Year, and three of his teammates were named CUNYAC All-Star honors. Seck received CUNYAC Coach of the Year honors (First of His Career).
In his debut season, the Panthers finished 5-7-1 and third in the CUNYAC. Two members of the team, Illir Papraniku and Irvin Baretto, both garnered All-Region honors. In addition, they were both named CUNYAC All-Stars alongside teammate Itamar Pereira.
