Cranford, New Jersey - The BMCC men's volleyball team dropped their first season match in straight sets on the road (20-25, 22-25, 13-25) in non-conference play to Union County College on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers dropped to 2-1 with the loss, while the Owls improved to 11-7 with the victory.
The Panthers battled hard in the first two sets of the match, hitting .769 in the first set and .333 in the second set as freshman Chong Lin Li led the offense with a team-high eight kills and hit a team and career-best .417 in the match while classmate Hugo Paz (Mexico City, Mexico) dished out a team-best 21 assists.
Freshman Isah Mohammed (Lagos, Nigeria) led BMCC on defense equaling a career-best with four solo blocks while Richard Nwagwu (Lagos, Nigeria) contributed three.
