New York, NY - Khalil Black (Queens, New York) & Kimmeo Dixson (Bronx, New York) paced the Panthers with 20 points a piece as BMCC overcame a slow start to defeat the Sharks of Suffolk County Community College by a final score of 69-57.
Black led all Panthers with 10 points in the opening half as BMCC went into the break trailing 27-25. After halftime, BMCC came out with a renewed energy getting key buckets from
Khalil,
Kimmeo and Freshman
Amar Loadholt (Brooklyn, New York), who finished the game with 13 points on a very economical 4-9 from the field and 5-6 from the charity stripe. On the glass, the Panthers limited the 2nd chance opportunities for the Sharks in the second half, led by Freshman
Zaden Henderson (Brooklyn, New York) who pulled down a team & season-high 12 rebounds on the game; the second straight game in which he has finished in double digits on the glass.
With the win, the Panthers head into the break on a 2-game winning streak and improve their record to (4-7 overall, 3-2 CUNY). They will next take the court in the new year on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, when they play host to CUNY conference rival Kingsborough Community College Wave.
