BMCC Baseball Drops Home Region 15 Contest To Nassau Community College

Bellerose, New York – The BMCC Baseball team was defeated 15-2 by Nassau Community College in Region 15 competition Tuesday afternoon at Padavan-Preller Complex. The victory improves the Tigers to 15-8 (8-5 Region XV), while the loss drops the Panthers to 2-17 (2-15 Region XV).
 
Sophomore Abdel Raheem Dolah (Brooklyn, New York) led the Panthers with a team-high three hits on the afternoon, his second three-hit performance, and sixth multi-hit game of the season. Classmate Frank Reyes (Brooklyn, New York) led the Panthers with two RBIs on the day and collected a single alongside freshman Luis Ramirez (Brooklyn, New York). Upperclassman Maxwell Jimenez (Dominican Republic) also posted a hit with his second double of the season.
 
Reyes led the Panthers on defense with a team-high eight putouts in the contestwhile Jimenez and Dolah put up seven and six, respectively. Jimenez also threw out two runners for the second time this season.
 
Dominic Tuozzo shut down the Panther offense on the afternoon to pick up his third win of the season, surrendering two runs on four hits over seven innings while striking out eight. 
 
Freshman Nicholas Mattera (Moorpark, California) took the loss for BMCC, allowing four on five hits over three innings with three strikeouts, all in the top of the second inning to go along with no walks.
 
The Panthers will look to get even with Nassau Community College when the two Region 15 foes square off on Friday, April 28, at 4 p.m. at Padavan-Preller Complex. For more information, please visit the BMCC Baseball Schedule Page.
