Women's Volleyball Drops Four Set Battle To Hostos Community College On The Road; Chen, Cheyenne Gray-Taitt, Hayes Set New Career Bests

New York, New York – The BMCC women's volleyball team dropped a four-set battle to Hostos Community College 3-1 (15-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-13) in CUNYAC action on the road Tuesday night in Bronx, New York. The loss drops the Panthers to 4-13 (3-4 CUNYAC) while the Caimans improve to 4-10 (5-1 CUNYAC).
 
After dropping to the first set, 25-15, BMCC gritted it out, taking the second set 25-20 before dropping the final two, 25-18 and 25-13.
 
The Panthers offense posted a season-high 46 service aces and three set new career highs and two matched career bests on Thursday night.
 
Sophomore Cheyenne Gray-Taitt (Harlem, New York) uncorked a career and game-best 12 kills and joined freshman Sarah Sellami (Queens, New York), who matched that exact total to spearhead the Panthers offenseFreshman Silvia Chen (New York, New York) registered her team-best fourth double-double, setting new career highs with a game-best 36 assists and 14 service aces. Sophomore Garyana Altidor (Queens, New York) and Sellami matched career bests with eight service aces each. Gray-Taitt also posted another career best with seven service aces, and freshman Kamya Hayes (Bronx, New York) registered a career-high six service aces.
 
Nicole Rosas led the Caimans on offense with six kills and tied for another team-high with Natalie Mora with five service aces. Rosas also led the Hostos defense with 14 digs.
