Panthers Fight, Fall in Four Sets To Raritan Valley Community College In Home Opener

Josanne Lewis and Xheni Doci both posted double-doubles, with Lewis registering game-high 16 kills and a team-high 21 digs and Doci recording a game-high 30 assists and 10 digs.

New York, New York –  The BMCC women's volleyball team gave visiting Raritan Valley Community College all they could handle on Tuesday night but came up short in four sets (15-25,25-20,11-25,26-28) at BMCC Gymnasium. The loss drops the Panthers' record to 1-2 while RVCC improves to 8-4.

Freshman Josanne Lewis (Antigua) spearheaded the Panther's offensive and defensive attack hammering a game-high 16 kills and corralling a team-best 21 digs for her first double-double of the season. Sophomore Xheni Doci (Saluzzo, Italy) also recorded her first double-double, dishing out a game-high 30 assists and collecting 10 digs in the match. Freshman Emanuella Aurel unloaded eight kills and collected 14 digs, while Sarah Lee (Staten Island, New York) recorded 15 digs.

Olivia Sims led Raritan Valley Community College offensively, throwing down a team-high eight kills. Izabella Bar posted a double-double handing out a team-best 27 assists and registering 10 digs. Bri Rojas led RVCC defensively with 25 digs while Kelly Delaney had 17 and Rachel Hatto had 11.
