The Express offense got right to work in the bottom of the first, putting up five runs to take the early lead. Juan Jorge led off the inning with a single to left field and moved over to third on a wild pitch, then Joseph Rosario stepped into the batter's box right after and cranked a two-run shot to put Monroe-Bronx in front 2-0. After Salomon Lluveres and Ernie Farrell got aboard with a single and double to left field Jose Arrieta brought Lluveres across on a sacrifice fly before Jose Ramirez uncorked the second two-run home run of the inning to give the Express a 5-0 advantage after one.

The Panthers went down 1-2-3 in the top of the second, then Monroe-Bronx blew it wide open in the bottom of the inning, batting around the order and posting 12 runs to expand the lead to 17-0. In the inning, Rosario picked up four RBIs, starting with an RBI single to right field, then Ernie Farrell registered a two-run double to stretch the lead to 7-0. Arrieta picked up an RBI single, and then Ramirez went yard for the second time on the afternoon with a two-run dinger to right field before Rosario picked up his second home run on the afternoon, a three-run blast to make it 15-0. Ramirez picked up his third RBI of the inning on an RBI double to left field, giving the Express a 17-0 lead after two innings.

After Monroe-Bronx added six more runs in the bottom of the third to make it 23-0, the Panthers finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth. Dolah wasted no time leading off the inning and ripped the first pitch he saw past the shortstop to get aboard. Then, after Miranda was struck out on a six-pitch at-bat, Richard Suriel (Queens, New York) went after the first pitch he saw and unloaded an RBI triple to center field for BMCC's first run of the afternoon. After that, the Panthers failed to do any more damage in the inning after Joshua Ascona (Queens, New York) struck out after a six-pitch at-bat, and Braudy Ciprian (Bronx, New York) flew out to center field.

The Express squeaked one more across in the fourth, and then BMCC was able to grab five more in the top of the fifth. After Emmanuel Aviles retired the first two batters in two pitches, Keijiro Fujiwara (Redington, Florida) was able to keep the inning alive with a single to the shortstop. Frank Reyes (Brooklyn, New York) stepped in right after and brought him home with an RBI double to left field. Dolah saw three pitches the next at-bat and connected on the fourth on a hard-hit RBI single to left field, advanced on an ill-advised throw scoring Reyes.

Dolah was not finished frustrating Aviles on the basepaths as he stole third and took home on a steal right after to cut the deficit to 24-4. After Miranda was hit by a pitch, Suriel connected for his second extra-base hit of the game with a double to left field, advancing Miranda to third. Miranda would score on a wild pitch, but a strikeout of Ascona ended the game with the Express taking game one 24-6.

Tejada got the nod on the hill picking up the victory, pitching a perfect two innings with no hits and walks while striking out five.

Miranda got the start for BMCC, allowing 17 runs on 13 hits over one and two-thirds innings. Suriel, Cristhian Fernandez Batista (New York, New York), and Gerardo Galan Berihuete (Brooklyn, New York) all provided relief pitching out of the bullpen for the Panthers. Berihuete and Suriel both pitched an inning, with Berihuete facing eight batters and tossing 30 pitches with four hits and three runs allowed to go along with a walk and a strikeout. Suriel faced eight batters and struck out three while allowing three hits and a run in 34 pitches thrown. Batista gave up six runs, two hits, and walked five.

Suriel posted his first multi-hit game of the season, and Dolah registered his second to lead the offense for the Panthers. Dolah also recorded his third multi-steal game of the season with two, while Berihuete picked up his first of the year.

Game 2 – Monroe Express 21, Borough of Manhattan 5
The Panthers built off their momentum in the final inning of game one to jump out in front in game two with a three run top of the first to lead 3-0. Keijiro Fujiwara (Redington, Florida) led off with a walk after forcing a five-pitch at-bat, then stole second. Frank Reyes (Brooklyn, New York) followed up with a bloop single before Abdel Raheem Dolah (Brooklyn, New York) uncorked an RBI double to left field to get BMCC on the board first, 1-0. Richard Suriel (Queens, New York) was hit by a pitch then Braudy Ciprian (Bronx, New York) registered two RBIS to stretch the Panther lead to 3-0. Ciprian and Suriel advanced to second and third on ill-advised throws putting BMCC in business to open up an even bigger lead. Arturo Aviles put a stop to the surge by retiring three straight batters with back-to-back strikeouts of David Fernandez (New York, New York) and Gerardo Galan Berihuete (Brooklyn, New York) and a groundout by Justin Ramirez (Queens, New York).

The Express responded with four straight runs in the bottom of the first to retake the lead 4-3 after one inning of play. Juan Jorge led off the inning with a single and stole second before Joseph Rosario brought him in on a groundout RBI to second to cut the BMCC lead to 3-1. Salomon Lluveres would step up to the plate next and used the big stick to send a shot to left field to cut the lead to 3-2. Then after Farrell and Jose Arietta drew back-to-back walks, Quinn Kilroy ripped an RBI single, and Arrieta scored on a throwing error off of the Kilroy single by Adrian Beckles (Bronx, New York) to make it 4-3. Suriel limited the damage with a huge three-pitch strikeout of Frank Ballar to end the first.

After the Beckles and Fujiwara were retired to start the top of the second, Reyes kept the Panthers alive with a walk before being picked off at first to end the inning and keep it a one-run Monroe-Bronx lead. The Express stretched the advantage to eight, 11-3, with a seven-run bottom of the second as Ernie Farrell uncorked a three-run double and Arietta connected on an RBI double before scoring on a throwing error to make it 9-3. Kilroy stole home to make it 10-3, and Jorge chipped in with an RBI double to make it 11-3 Monroe-Bronx after two.

The Panthers bit into the deficit in the top of the third with two runs cutting it to 11-5. Dolah forced a lead-off walk on six pitches, then recorded his third steal on the day. Suriel brought Dolah across from second on an RBI single before stealing second base himself. After advancing to third on a wild pitch, Ciprian grounded out to shortstop and recorded his team-high third RBI to cut the Monroe-Bronx lead down to six, 11-5. The BMCC offense stalled after that, with Fernandez flying out to center field and Berihuete striking out swinging going into the bottom of the inning.

Suriel kept the Panthers in it, tossing a scoreless bottom of the third after giving up a lead-off single to Farrell. The righty was able to get Arrieta to fly out to center field and strike out Jabez King to get out of the inning.

The Panthers had some golden opportunities to cut the 11-5 Express lead down further in the top of the fourth. After a Suriel groundout to third base, Beckles singled on a liner to center field, and then Fujiwara drew a hard-earned walk off of an eight-pitch at-bat before Reyes sizzled a line drive single into center field to load up the bases with one out. However, Aviles was able to get out of the jam for Monroe-Bronx striking out Dolah on a tough six-pitch at-bat and getting Joshua Ascona (Queens, New York) to pop up to first to keep it an 11-5 game.

The Express pulled away for good in the bottom of the inning and racked up 10 runs to increase the lead to 21-5. Kilroy spearheaded the offensive surge with a lead-off single, then stole second and third to put himself in scoring position. After a Ballar walk, Jorge recorded the first of his two RBIs in the inning with an RBI single over second base, then Rosario followed up with an RBI single of his own to make it 13-5. After Jorge and Rosario scored on balks, Farrell, Arrieta, and Kilroy picked up RBIs on a double, single, and sacrifice fly to make it 18-5. Denis Garcia added to the lead with a two-run double, and Jorge picked up his second RBI of the inning on a double to make it 21-5 going into the top of the fifth.

The Panthers failed to score in the top of the inning after Ciprian was hit by a pitch as Fernandez grounded into a 6-4-3 double play, and Berihuete struck out looking as the Express swept the doubleheader 21-5.
