Jahlil Kearney Drops A Career-High In A Competitive Road Loss To Hostos C.C.

Bronx, New York - After going blow for blow in a tightly contested first half Hostos Community College used a strong second half to pull from BMCC men's basketball 85-74 on the road Thursday night at the Swamp.

The Panthers gave the Caimans all they could handle in the first half trailing 34-32 at the halftime break before Hostos Community College outscored them 51-42 in an explosive offensive second half to conclude the game with an 85-74 victory.

Jahlil Kearney (Saint Albans, New York) dropped a career-high 19 points and tied a game-high with four three-pointers, while Spencer Barnes (Bronx, New York) scored 18 points and grabbed a team-best eight boards. William Brown (Brooklyn, New York) added 10 points while Jeremiah Cardi (New York, New York) and Jeremy Gonzalez dished out four assists apiece, while Emmanuel Adenekan (Bronx, New York) turned away a game-high four shots.

Marquise Paulin led all scorers in the contest with a game-high 23 points, while Onias Outlaw registered a double-double with 17 points and a game-best 11 rebounds. Rashad Ramserran scored 12 points off the bench while Paulin and Outlaw snagged four teams apiece, and Paulin recorded a team-high three blocks.

On Thursday, February 10, the Panthers return home against CUNYAC opponent Bronx Community College at 6 p.m.
