Men's Basketball Cruises To Second Straight Victory Over Kingsborough Community College, 74-58, On The Road

Brooklyn, New York - The BMCC men's basketball team came off the Thanksgiving break ready to roll, racing out to an early 24-6 first half and never looking back en route to a 74-58 victory over CUNYAC opponent Kingsborough Community College on Tuesday evening in Brooklyn, New York. The Panther's second straight victory improves their record to 3-4 (2-0 CUNYAC), while the Wave fall to 1-4 (1-3 CUNYAC) with the loss.

Three of the five Panthers starters registered double-figure efforts. Sophomore Jeremiah Cardi (New York, New York) led all scorers with a game-high 18 points, while freshman Ysaia Marte (Bronx, New York) scored 15 points, and classmate Leverson Tulien (Roslyn Heights, New York) missed his team-leading fourth double-double by one rebound with a team-high nine to go along with 12 points. Freshman Edgardo Sanchez (Brooklyn, New York) also dished out a team-best three assists, while Tulien led the Panthers defensively with a team-high three blocks and steals.

Panthers got off to a fast start racing out to a 24-6 advantage on a Tulien fastbreak layup from Cardi, and kept the lead in double digits going into halftime with a 45-31 lead. BMCC kept their foot on the gas in the second half building their lead to its largest mark 19, 71-52, and shut the door on Kingsborough the rest of the way, rolling to a 74-58 victory.

Troy Graham led Kingsborough Community College with 16 points in the game and Mel Bourne hauled down a game-best 12 rebounds. Tyrese Grant posted a game-high 10 assists and five steals, while Bourne also turned away a team-best two shots.

The Panthers look to extend their winning streak to three as they return home to face Bronx Community College in CUNYAC play on December 6 at 7 p.m. at BMCC Gymnasium. For more information, visit the BMCC Men's Basketball Schedule Page.
