Women's Soccer Falls At Home To Fashion Institute of Technology

New York, New York - The BMCC women's soccer team dropped their only home contest of the season 5-0 to the Fashion Institute of Technology Tuesday afternoon at Pier 40. The Tigers improve to 3-1-3 (2-0-0 Region XV) while the Panthers fall to 0-3-0 (0-2-0 Region XV).

Fashion Institute of Technology got on the board quickly when Emma Rathburn found the back of the net on a feed from Michelle Muratore in the sixth minute to make it 1-0. Viva Frenk extended FIT's lead to two goals when she netted an unassisted tally in the 13th minute before Karlee Sklodorsky closed out the first half with a goal in the 40th minute from Hailey Wolfman to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead at halftime.

The Tigers added two more markers in the second half as Frenk connected for her second of the afternoon in the 61st minute, and Lissandra Micera twinkled the twine in the 63rd minute as Fashion Institute of Technology cruised to a 5-0 victory.

Brooke Singer picked up her third victory of the season and picked up the clean sheet with two saves. Freshman Maira Limareyes (Puebla, Mexico) made a career-high nine stops in her first start of the season, taking the loss.

Freshman Nayely Garcia (Puebla, Mexico) and Justine Hoppie (Brooklyn, New York) had the Panthers only two shots on the afternoon.

The Panthers will look for a victory to close out their 2022 season next Thursday, October 13, against Region 15 opponent Suffolk County Community College in Seldon, New York, at 2 p.m. For more information, visit the BMCC Women's Soccer Schedule Page.
