New York, New York - The BMCC men's soccer team's offense continues to click on all cylinders as the 2022 regular season closes. The Panthers kept their red-hot offense going on Tuesday afternoon, netting three first-half goals and running away with a dominant 5-1 road victory over Orange County Community College. The Panther's second straight victory improves their record to 6-5 (5-4 Region XV), while the Colts fall to 1-9 (1-8 Region XV).
The Panther's offense got right to work as freshman Lucas Amato (Queens, New York) drilled one off the crossbar and into the back of the net in the 29th minute to give BMCC the early 1-0 advantage. Ibrahim Hussein (Bronx, New York) extended the BMCC lead to 2-0 in the 39th minute on a feed from team captain Bodrul Alam (Bronx, New York). Underclassman James Bae (Brooklyn, New York) added a third goal in the 40th minute from Carlos Auquilla (New York, New York) to make it 3-1 at halftime.
The Panthers refused to take their foot off the gas in the second half, with freshman Mouhamed Nasr (Brooklyn, New York) netting two more markers in the 50th from Alassane Koroma (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) and the 60th minute on Auquilla's second assist and team-leading fifth of the year to make it a 5-0. BMCC took the 5-0 lead to the final whistle picking up a major road Region 15 victory.
Abdul Mumin Seidu (Bronx, New York) picked up his sixth victory on the season, making seven stops.
The Panthers look to finish their 2022 regular season on a three-game winning streak as they head to Suffolk County Community College on Thursday, October 13, for a big-time Region 15 battle at 4 p.m. in Seldon, New York. For more information, visit the BMCC Men's Soccer Schedule.
