Selden, New York - The BMCC men's soccer team was edged on the road by Region 15 opponent Suffolk C.C., 1-0, on Thursday afternoon in Seldon, New York. The Panthers finish the regular season 6-6 (6-5 Region XV), while the Sharks improve to 10-2 (8-1 Region XV).
The Panthers had a few good chances in the first half, but Sam Gonzaga broke the scoreless tie for the Sharks in the 38th minute, burying a feed from Luke Augeri to make it 1-0.
Freshman goalkeeper
Abdul Mumin Seidu (Bronx, New York) was tremendous in net for the Panthers, keeping them in the game with nine of his career-high 17 saves coming in the first half to keep it 1-0 at halftime.
After two seasons of missing out on the CUNYAC Championship Game because of COVID-19, the Panthers are back in it for the seventh time in eight seasons and the first time since 2019. They will look to knock off defending 2021 CUNYAC Conference Champion Queensborough Community College on Monday, October 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Queens College. For more information, visit the
