New York, NY--Paced by a game-high 31 points scored by freshman guard
Jeremiah Cardi, the Borough of Manhattan Community College men's basketball team opened their season with a victory over Kingsborough, outscoring the Wave 87-69.
"I was happy to see us defend and make some shots," said head men's basketball coach,
Tommy Keenan. "Overall, certain guys stepped up on both ends of the floor, and that really helped us tonight."
Freshman guard
Romahar Joseph racked up 20 points, and tied Cardi's six rebounds. Freshman Forward
Spencer Barnes grabbed eight rebounds and had four steals, both of which were team-highs.
"As I told them after the game, it's only November 4th," said Coach Keenan. "We have a lot of season left but tonight was a great way to kick off the season."
BMCC moves to 1-0 while Kingsborough drops to 0-1. The Panthers will prepare to preserve their winning record against Nassau CC on Saturday, Nov. 13th at home.
