Women’s Basketball Defeated By Nassau Community College At Home, 117-24

The BMCC women's basketball team lost to Nassau Community College, 117-24 in Regional action on Saturday afternoon at BMCC Gymnasium. The Panthers record drops to 2-13 (2-10 Region XV) on the season, while the Lions remain a perfect 19-0 (14-0 Region) with the victory.

Sophomore Autum Adams-Edwards (Brooklyn, New York) posted her team-leading eighth double-figure game, with a team-high 10 points on the afternoon. Classmate Lauren Malcolm (Bronx, New York) brought down a team-high nine rebounds, and freshman Shyasia Preston (Far Rockaway, New York) had five. Adams-Edwards also snatched four rebounds of her own. Preston and Malcolm also chipped in scoring with eight and six points, respectively.

Nassau Community College had six players in double-figures, as sophomore guard Bobbi Green led the way with a game-high 26 points, 14 coming in the first quarter, on 10-for-20 shooting. Green also snagged a game-best four steals. Classmate Lindsay McBean posted a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing a game-high ten rebounds, while fellow sophomore Ashley Barrett drained 16 points and brought down seven boards. Freshman guard Heaven Giles contributed 12 points and classmates Abby Babatunde and Alexis Aponte chipped in with ten apiece, while also Aponte dished out a team-high four assists.
