NEW YORK, N.Y. (May 16, 2019) - It was a repeat for Borough of Manhattan Community College, which won the 2018-19 CUNYAC Community College Commissioner's Cup.

BMCC, which earned its league-best 12th Cup all-time, was awarded the trophy on Thursday evening at the 33rd Annual Michael Steuerman Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner at John Jay College in New York City.

It was a difference of just three points that separated BMCC (68.5 points) and Queensborough Community College (65.5 points) for the Cup.

"This year was really close. To win it two years in a row is really a testament to our coaching staff and our student-athletes. We have a great group," said BMCC Coordinator of Athletics and Athletic Facilities Operations Dakota Olson.

Though Queensborough jumped out to a comfortable 19-point lead (55-36) in the fall, BMCC would return the favor in the winter.

While both schools qualified for the CUNYAC Tournament in men's and women's basketball, BMCC made it to the championship final in the women's tournament, and won a second-consecutive CUNYAC title on the men's side, en route to totaling a whopping 32.5 points.

Queensborough would collect just 7.5 points in the winter, as BMCC took a five-point lead (68.5-63.5) going into the spring.

The Tigers received points for their participation in indoor and outdoor track and field, but fell short of their goal of returning to the CUNYAC final in baseball, locking up the Panthers' second Cup win in as many years.

On the heels of a dominant performance in women's basketball and a CUNYAC regular-season title in men's basketball, Hostos Community College was third with 50 points. The Lady Caimans, who ran away with the conference's regular-season and tournament championships, went on to win their second-straight NJCAA Division III National Championship.

Bronx Community College swept the league's tournament and regular-season titles in baseball, and came in fourth with 30 points, while Kingsborough Community College earned a runner-up finish in baseball to round out the standings with 21 points.
