Women’s Basketball Drops Regional Game At Nassau Community College On Saturday Afternoon

Garden City, New York | The BMCC women's basketball team lost its road matchup to Nassau Community College, 102-31, on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Panthers' record to 0-3 (0-2 Region XV) on the season, while the Lions stay perfect at 4-0 (3-0 Region XV).

Asani Springer (Brooklyn, New York) scored in double-figures for a second straight game, posting a team-high 14 points. Sophomore Lauren Malcolm (Bronx, New York) brought down a game-high 16 rebounds while tying a team-high with two steals. Classmate Blossom Berruecos (Flushing, NY) and Freshman Shyasia Preston (Far Rockaway, New York) both snatched two steals, tying a team-high. Preston also grabbed five boards and scored six points, while Berruecos had four rebounds in the game. Sophomore Autum Adams-Edwards (Brooklyn, New York) also dished out a team-high two assists on the afternoon and scored five points.

Four players scored in double-digits for Nassau Community College, with sophomore guard Bobbi Green leading the 14 points. Classmate Ashley Barrett hauled down a team-high eight rebounds and scored 12 points, while freshman forwards Abby Babatunde and Giavanna Faison both chipped in with 11 points apiece.
