New York, New York | The BMCC women's basketball team was defeated on the road by Kingsborough Community College, 61-45, on Wednesday night in CUNY action in Brooklyn, New York. With the loss, the Panthers fall to 0-2 (0-1 CUNY), while the Wave move to 1-0 (1-0 CUNY).
Freshman guard Asani Springer (Brooklyn, New York) put up a team-high 18 points-her first double-figure effort off the bench this season- on 5-of-14 shooting while knocking down a team-best four three-pointers on the evening. Sophomore Lauren Malcolm (Bronx, New York) snatched a team-high six rebounds and two steals, while classmates Autum Adams-Edwards (Brooklyn, New York) and Blossom Berruecos (Flushing, NY) both chipped in with nine points apiece.
Freshman Tiffany Bogle posted the first double-double of her career, leading all Kingsborough players with a game-high 34 points and ten rebounds. Classmate Sara Henriquez chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds to go along with four assists and three steals. Sophomore Magdalena Kupras dished out a team-high seven assists, while Freshman Lori-Ann Carter brought down seven boards in the contest.
