New York, New York | After a two-game winless streak, including back-to-back losses over Regional opponents, the BMCC women's soccer team was looking to regain their momentum at home on Thursday afternoon. The Panther's final two home games would take place away from the city in Brooklyn, New York, at Kingsborough Athletics Field.

BMCC bounced with a dominant 3-1 victory over Kingsborough Community College. In victory, the Panthers improve to 2-3 (2-3 Region XV), while the loss drops the to 0-6 (0-3 Region XV).

Freshman Lisa Velasquez (Brooklyn, New York) opened the scoring in the 24th minute off a feed from Sophomore Cindy Daza (Brooklyn, New York) and scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season. BMCC took that 1-0 advantage into the halftime break while outshooting Kingsborough, 6-0.

The Panthers extended their lead in the 54th minute via Daza, who grabbed a loose ball at the top of the 18 and beat Kingsborough freshman keeper Alma Villeda. Two minutes later, the Wave got within one on their only shot of the afternoon by freshman Katiushaka Valencia in the 56th minute, before freshman Fernanda Santos (Rio De Janiero, Brazil) added an insurance goal late in the 64th minute to seal the victory 3-1.

Freshman CadeJah McLaren (Mount Vernon, New York) picked up her second victory of the season, while Kingsborough goalie Villeda made seven stops in the match that saw her side outshot 19-1.
