New York, NY | Last season the BMCC men's soccer team capped off an undefeated regular season with a win over the Queensborough Tigers in the CUNYAC Championship. On Tuesday night they would pick up right where they left off, beating the Tigers 2-1 with goals coming from
Lamarana Diallo and
Jahvaughnie Johnson.
The Panthers recorded their first goal of the season on an unassisted play by the freshman forward Diallo. Following a Queensborough goal in the final minutes of the first half, the teams would enter halftime tied 1-1. Then in the final 15 minutes of the game, the 2017 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year Johnson broke the deadlock with a goal coming off of an assist from freshman
Tenzin Nyinjey.
With the first win of the season secured the Panthers will turn their attention to their next match, the Monroe Express. BMCC will take on the Region 15 opponent in their home opener on Friday at Pier 40 at 12pm.
