New York, NY | With the #1 seed in the conference tournament wrapped up, the BMCC men's basketball were playing to remain undefeated in CUNYAC this season, while the Queensborough Tigers desperately needed a win to clinch a spot as the fourth seed in the tournament. Led by 21 point performances from
Quran Dublin and
Viktor Kovacevic, the Panthers grabbed their 8
th conference win this season in a 93-85 victory, forcing the Tigers to await the result of the Hostos-Bronx matchup later this week.
It was a close first half with tempers flaring from the Queensborough bench as the Panthers entered halftime with a narrow 2 point lead. The teams would trade leads several times in the second half before BMCC went on 14-2 run in the final four minutes to close out the game.
With the two freshman combining for 42 points, the sophomore duo of
Lawrence Todman [17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals] and
Anthony McClean [10 points, 10 assists] showed up to play in front of the home crowd on senior night.
