Panthers remain undefeated in CUNYAC, Beat Broncos 120-93

New York, NY | With a perfect 3-0 conference record on the line, the men's basketball team took on the Bronx Broncos on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers connected on 15 three pointers en route to their sixth consecutive win as they beat the Broncos 120-93.

After going 8 for 8 from the free throw line, Panthers' freshman Curtis Smith recorded a team-high in scoring with 22 points. In his first career game against the conference opponent, the reigning CUNYAC Player of the Week, Quran Dublin, showed up big by hitting 5 threes and went on to finish with 21 points in limited minutes. The Bronx defense did not appear to have an answer for Viktor Kovacevic as the Panthers forward knocked down his first three shots from behind the arc on his way to 16 points, to go along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Despite playing only 9 minutes, Anthony McClean finished the game with 11 points after going 4 for 4 from the field. Coming off of the best outing of his season, Eric Johnson Jr. kept the momentum going as he recorded 11 points and kept the Broncos out of the paint with 3 blocks. The freshman trio of Mark Morgan, Devin Berrios and Raybon Fleming scored 10 points apiece, while sophomore Lawrence Todman tallied 9 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds.

During the six game winning streak, the Panthers have averaged 107.3 points per game, and will look to keep it going when they return to action next weekend. BMCC will square off against the Schenectady Royals on Saturday at 3pm.
