Brooklyn, NY | Following a pair of non-region games, the Panthers took the floor on Tuesday night for a CUNY Athletic Conference matchup against the Kingsborough Wave. BMCC built up a large lead in the first half and would go on to win 92-72 to bring their record to 2-1 this season.
Entering this season the Panthers were voted as the #1 team in the conference in the CUNYAC coaches' poll due to their explosive offense and depth at the backcourt positions, both of which were on full display Tuesday night. The team shot a combined 43% from three-point range as six Panthers reached double-digit scoring totals. The freshmen duo of
Quran Dublin and
Curtis Smith led the offense with 17 points apiece, while
Eric Johnson Jr. provided 15 points off of the bench.
Devin Berrios finished with a season-high in scoring [14] and assists [4].
The Panthers will have a few days to prepare for their next game against Sullivan County. BMCC will host the Generals this Saturday at 2 pm.
