New York, NY Â |Â The Panthers battled against the two best teams in the conference today, but were unable to pick up a win as they fell short against Queensborough and Kingsborough.
In the first match, BMCC did not look sharp in the opening set, but they managed to recover and win the next one by a score of 25-20. In the final two sets against the Wave, the Panthers started strong, but could not keep up as the game progressed. This pattern continued as they fell in their next match by a final score of three sets to zero.
Despite the outcome of today's matches, a few Panthers filled up the stat sheet with impressive individual performances.
Iris Miranda recorded 23 assists in the first match, and followed that up with 16 more against Queensborough. Meanwhile,
Kayshawna Richardson and
Jennifer Santos were strong on the defensive side of the ball, piling up 14 and 17 digs respectively.Â
The Women's Volleyball team looks to bounce back from this tough home loss when they return to action next week. They will be on the road for their next match when they travel up to the Bronx to take on the (1-4) Broncos in a conference showdown beginning at 7 PM.
