Brooklyn, NY | The Panthers travelled to Manhattan Beach in full force this weekend, with the Men's and Women's soccer teams, as well as the Women's Volleyball team playing in Kingsborough on Saturday. All three teams managed to come away with a win against CUNYAC opponents.
The Women's Soccer team started the day off by picking up their first win of the season as they jumped on the Wave to win 3-2. After struggling offensively in their first few games this year,
Kamila Kowalska broke the scoring drought and did not stop there, the freshman finished the game with 2 goals. Playing in her first game this season,
Wendy Daza also managed to find the back of the net, while
Aliyah Ali kept the Panthers in the game with 6 saves.
Women's Volleyball team continues to split matches in doubleheaders. Despite losing to Queensborough 0-3 (20-25, 16-25, 13-25) in the opening match, they rallied back to defeat Hostos for the second time this season.
Wai Shan Chan and
Kayshawna Richardson set the tempo on offense, with 11 and 9 kills respectively.
Iris Miranda led the team with 16 assists and 5 services aces. Johanna Castro (11 digs) and
Kaina Bazard (9 digs, 12 assists) paved the way defensively as the Panthers eased past their conference opponent.
Men's Soccer has dominated teams this entire season, and continued to do so this weekend as they crushed the Wave 8-0. Five different Panthers managed to find the back of the net against Kingsborough.
Jonathan Lopez and
