BELLEROSE, NY|
The Borough of Manhattan Community College baseball team dropped its fourth and final regular-season game vs. Nassau Community College 16-3 at Padavan-Preller Complex in Bellerose, NY on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Panthers fall to 1-10 (1-4 CUNYAC) on the season, while the Lions improve to 6-6.

Freshman Mario Padron (0-2) allowed four runs in the top of the first inning, which forced the offense's hand early. The Panthers responded by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first courtesy of an RBI double by catcher Wilson Aristy and a ground-out by center fielder Gerson Perez that brought Padron home.

After a scoreless third inning for the Lions, an RBI single by Perez saw second baseman Christopher Garcia score and cut the Nassau lead to just one run (4-3).

But a five-run fourth inning saw the end of Padron's afternoon, and relief pitcher Camilo Pena failed to stop the bleeding, allowing seven runs in the fifth inning. From there out, the Lions cruised to the 16-3 victory.

Right fielder Ramon Nunez went 2-3 with one run in the loss, while Perez's 1-2 afternoon saw him score a season-best two runs. Aristy was 1-3 and his third-inning RBI moves him into a tie for first on the team with Padron with six RBI's.

The Panthers resume their series with CUNYAC foe Kingsborough Community College on Friday, April 10 when the sides play at Kingsborough Athletic Field in Brooklyn, NY at 12:00 PM. The series will wrap up on Saturday, April 11 at Padavan-Preller Complex in Bellerose, NY with a doubleheader set to begin at 12:00 PM.
