BELLEROSE, NY| The Borough of Manhattan Community College baseball team dropped the first game in a four-game series with Kingsborough Community College (4-5, 3-2 CUNYAC) 12-4 on Tuesday afternoon in Brooklyn, NY to fall to 1-9, (1-4 CUNYAC) on the season.
Freshman
Miguel Salas (0-2) threw five innings, allowing eight runs (four earned) and striking out three batters in his second start of the season. Sophomore
Camilo Pena pitched the sixth inning and allowed four runs in his second appearance on the mound this season.
Kingsborough's Richard Hatton earned his first win in his first start in 2015.
Freshman
Mario Padron went 3-4 with an RBI, a stolen base and one run. The third baseman slotted in at shortstop while Salas manned the mound.
Center fielder
Gerson Perez went 2-3 at the plate and stole one base, while first baseman
Dimitri Madera went 1-3 and collected his fifth RBI of the season.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, April 8 when they face Nassau Community College at 4:00 PM at Padavan-Preller Complex in Bellerose, NY. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 but was postponed due to weather.
