Baseball Shutout by Suffolk at Home

Pitcher Kenny Berihuete suffered his fourth loss of the season

BELLEROSE, NY| The Borough of Manhattan Community College baseball team were defeated 12-0 by Suffolk County Community College on Friday in the second game of a four-game series at Padavan-Preller Complex in Bellerose, NY. With the loss, the Panthers fall to 2-16 (1-7 CUNYAC) on the season, while the Sharks improve to 11-7.


Pitcher Kenny Berihuete earned his fourth start of the season and pitched five innings, allowing nine earned runs and striking out four batters.

After falling behind 3-0 following the second inning, the Panthers failed to generate any offense, and behind an eight-run fourth inning, the Sharks cruised to the 12-0 victory.

Suffolk's Sean Boyle (3-1) stifled the horsts and struck out seven batters, allowing only two hits in five innings.

Third baseman Mario Padron (1-1) and center fielder Ramon Nunez (1-3) were the only Panthers to register hits.

The series shifts to Suffolk tomorrow (4/18) when the two sides play a doubleheader at the Ammerman Campus in Selden, NY at 12:00 PM.
