Poughkeepsie, NY Â
|Â After opening the season with 7 straight wins, the Men's Soccer team received a blemish to their perfect record in the form of a tie with the Dutchess Falcons in last night's match. With a depleted squad and two Panthers sidelined with injury during the match, the team rallied together to score a late-game goal to stay out of the loss column.
Despite missing key starters, the Panthers continued to dominate on defense and control possession as they have done the entire season. The stingy BMCC defense allowed just 4 shots on goal while the offense put up 17 shots. It was not until the 83
rd minute that one of these shots found the back of the net. Following a shot that hit off the post,
Ryo Koiso fielded the rebound and struck a shot to even up the score. This was the 7
th goal of the season for Koiso, the sophomore currently sits at second on the team in scoring.
The Panthers will travel to Westchester on Saturday before returning home to face Suffolk next Wednesday. The game against Bronx CC has been rescheduled for 4pm on Thursday the 16
th, stay tuned for more updates on the postponed matches.
