NEW YORK, NY| The Borough of Manhattan Community College women's soccer and volleyball teams were both defeated on Thursday—the former lost 7- to the Fashion Institute of Technology at Pier 40 and the latter lost 3-0 at Kingsborough Community College. The women's soccer team, which kicked-off at 12:30 PM, struggled to find momentum against a strong FIT side. Despite the loss, defenders Olivia Chang and Marilyn put forth strong performances. Keeper Dashka Fonrose made 14 saves as well.
The volleyball team traveled to KCC for a CUNYAC showdown, but failed to win a set (25-11, 25-20, 25-16). Captain Tania Mejia recorded a team-high five kills and two blocks, while Alioscak Adames recorded six assists and Johanna Castro and Wai Shan Chan dug out five balls each.
Up next the women's soccer team travels to take on Union County College on Saturday, September 27 at 12:00 PM. The volleyball team's next contest comes on Tuesday, September 30, when it travels to Bronx Community College for a 6:00 PM start.
