The 2012-13 BMCC Swim team had a successful meet in the mountains of Delhi, NY at the 2012 Delhi Invitational.  Giuseppe De Angelis(Freshman, Anzio, Rome, Italy), who was participating in his first ever meet at the collegiate level, made quite the impression.  In the 100 Yard Freestyle, the Italian freshman finished with an impressive time of 56.63 placing him 1st overall in the meet.  The Panthers also had Joseph Torres(Sophomore, El Paso, Texas) competing in the same event.  Joseph finished with a strong time of 57.13 which placed him 2nd overall allowing the Panthers too finish 1-2 overall for the 100 Free.  Joseph finished off the day with a 3rd place finish in the 200 Yard IM (2:19.87) and a 4th place finish in the Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:12.89).  The Panthers second returning swimmer from last season Rafael Flores(Sophomore, El Paso, Texas) competed in 3 events on the day placing 4th overall in the Men's 100 Yard Back (1:00.19), 2nd overall in the 50 Yard Free (23.76) and 2nd overall in the 100 Yard Butterfly (57.30) as he was narrowly outouched by Matthew Mullen of Sufflok CC who finished with a time of 57.24.

Overall, it was a successful meet for the Panthers who will look to get back in the pool and train even harder for their next meet which will take place this Saturday, December 8th on the campus of Suffolk Community College.
