Kyle Sipe is the Borough of Manhattan Community College Cross Country program’s first-ever head coach and will be at the helm for the school’s inaugural season in 2022.
Sipe arrives at BMCC boasting an outstanding resume with four years of coaching experience with his previous stop at Manhattanville College, where he was a successful assistant coach for the past two seasons with the men’s and women’s cross country and track & field teams. During his time with the Valiants program, Sipe tutored 2021 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year and six-time Conference Weekly Honor Roll selection Carter Somme who smashed the program record in the 5000-meter twice during the 2021 season.
In addition to his coaching duties the past two years, he doubled as the program’s photographer for numerous Valiant meets.
Prior to Manhattanville, Sipe served as an assistant coach at the York County School of Technology, where he was in charge of constructing workouts and training for the track & field team, before moving to Grove City College, where he was the assistant track & field, sprints, hurdles, and throws coach for the 2019-20 season.
Before jumping into the coaching ranks, Sipe was an outstanding runner at the California University of Pennsylvania and in the two-year ranks at Thaddeus Stevens. He qualified for the NJCAA Nationals in cross country and the 800 meters in track and field for the Bulldogs. In addition, he competed in the decathlon as both a junior and senior at California University of Pennsylvania.
He recently completed his master’s from Manhattanville College in Sports Business and Entertainment in 2022 after receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Graphics and Multimedia from California University of Pennsylvania.
