NEW YORK, NY - The BMCC Panthers started the 2026 season with a bang; blowing out the Kingsborough CC Wave by a score of 11-0. BMCC got the attack going early and often in the 1st half, with the 1st goal of the season being registered by
Edith Lojano (Queens, New York) just a mere 1:37 into the game. Within the next 5 minutes, the Panthers would find the back of the net two more time. An unassisted goal from
Emily Pelcastre (Brooklyn, New York), followed by a goal from
Jaqueline Barrera (New York, New York), assisted by
Michelle Martinez (Bronx, New York), catapulted the Panthers to a 3-0 lead just 6 minute into the game. The Panthers kept their foot on the gas; scoring 5 more times in the 1st half. Goals from Lojano,
Katie Osorio (Bronx, New York), and
Michelle Martinez (Bronx, New York) helped BMCC take a commanding 8-0 lead into the break.
Three more second half goals from Lojano, Osorio and
Ornela Pedabga (Bronx, New York) pushed the Panthers lead to 11-0. With Lojano and Osorio's second half goals, both freshman registered a hat trick in their 1st collegiate game! Between the posts,
Mireya Contreras (Queens, New York) went untested en route to the 1st shutout of her career.
With the win, the Panthers start the season 1-0 overall, 1-0 in conference, and record the program's first win since 2023.

The Panthers return to action on Tuesday, September 15th, when they travel to the Garden State for a match vs. Region 19 foe Bergen Community College at 4pm from the campus of Bergen CC.
