46 BMCC Student-Athletes made the Dean's List
In a year that saw BMCC Student-Athletes achieve success both on the regional and national stage, the Panthers proved that their accomplishments extended far beyond the fields and courts of competition, as they delivered many impressive performances in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic school year.
A total of 46 BMCC student-athletes earned Dean's List recognition, highlighting the department's continued commitment to academic excellence. The achievement headlined a year in which Panther student-athletes excelled academically while balancing the demands of collegiate sports.
The BMCC Athletics Department concluded the academic school year with a 2.82 cumulative GPA while producing numerous individual and team academic accolades. A total of 26 student-athletes earned NJCAA Academic All-Region honors, recognizing those who demonstrated an outstanding achievement in the classroom. Additionally, 41 student-athletes recorded a GPA of 3.0 or higher, while 13 student-athletes achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
The Panthers' success was evident throughout the year by, as 32 percent of all BMCC student-athletes maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2025-26 athletic season. The department also celebrated 29 CUNY Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selections, highlighting student-athletes who excelled both academically and athletically.
"The accomplishments our student-athletes continue to achieve in the classroom are every bit as important as the success we see during competition," said
Matthew Ruiz, Director of Athletics & Recreation at BMCC. "Maintaining strong academic standards while balancing practices, travel, competition, and coursework is never easy. These student-athletes have embraced that challenge and continue to demonstrate what it means to represent BMCC with pride both academically and athletically."
The Dean's List honorees were representative of the department-wide commitment to academic success that has become a hallmark of BMCC Athletics. Their achievements, combined with the program's Academic All-Region selections and CUNY Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll recipients, reflect the dedication and discipline required to succeed both in the classroom and in competition.
