Chris Toribio Drives In 5 To Lead BMCC Panthers Past Queensborough CC Tigers

NEW YORK, NY - Christopher Toribio (Bronx, New York) drove in five runs on two hits to lead BMCC Panthers past Queensborough CC Tigers 17-10 on Saturday. Toribio hit a home run to left field in the second inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the first inning, scoring two.
 
After allowing 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning, the Panthers bats responded in big way took took the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the first thanks to singles by Toribio, and Elias Taylor-Silvestre Jr. (Trenton, New Jersey).  Queensborough CC Tigers answered back with 3 runs of their own in the top of the 2nd inning but BMCC regained the lead in the bottom of the second thanks in large part to Toribio home run to left field, scoring three runs, to give BMCC Panthers the advantage, 7-6.  BMCC scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. Yoskar Vargas (Bronx, New York) tripled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, one run scored on another play, and Dom Figueroa drew a walk, scoring one run.  The Panthers continued to increase their lead scoring five runs on two hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. 
 
Nolan Armenta (Carlsbad, California) pitched four innings in relief for the BMCC Panthers. The California native surrendered three hits and one run while, striking out five and walking one in route to picking up the win.  Overall, BMCC amassed 10 hits in the game. Vargas, Armenta, and Toribio each collected two hits for BMCC Panthers. BMCC ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases for the game. including two from Amil Mendez (Bronx, New York).

With the win the Panthers picked up their first victory of the season and will look to keep the momentum going as they finish the 2026 season vs. Nassau CC and Dutchess CC.
