Men's Volleyball Open Season With A Decisive Victory Over Hostos
NEW YORK, NY - The BMCC Panthers Men's Volleyball team opened the 2026 campaign with a decisive victory over CUNY foe Hostos Community College. In what was the season opener for both programs, the Panthers left no doubt winning the 1st set by a score of 25-12. Sets 2 and 3 followed a similar suite with the Panthers taking those by a score of 25-19 and 25-14 in route to a 3-0 victory. On the offensive end, sophomores
Jeriel Peguero (Dominican Republic) and
Chance Longmore (Queens, New York) led the Panthers attack finishing with 11 kills and 9 kills, respectively. Defensively, Longmore and fellow sophomore
Mansur Lechiev (Republic of Dagestan) stood tall for the Panthers, with each contributing 2 solo blocks a piece.

With the win, BMCC starts the year 1-0 overall (1-0 in region, 1-0 in conference). The Panthers return to action this Saturday, February 21st, for a huge Region XV double dual vs. the #4 and #8 teams in country - Nassau Community College and Monroe University - Bronx. Action is slated to start at 12pm between your Panthers and the (#8) Monroe Express, with the match vs. (#4) Nassau to follow.
