New York, New York - The BMCC women's volleyball team was defeated in straight sets by Raritan Valley on Tuesday evening at the BMCC Gymnasium. The loss dropped the Panthers record to 7-12, while the Lions record moved to 20-9.
Freshman Jaylynn Mateo (Brooklyn, New York) led the Panthers on offense and defense with a team-high six kills and 10 digs, while classmate Kavana Liburd (Queens, New York) dished out a team-high 11 assists. Sophomore Emmanuella Aurel (Port Au Prince, Haiti) contributed to the Panther's defensive effort with a team-high two solo blocks.
Madison Cobb spearheaded the Raritan Valley offensive effort, smashing a game-high 12 kills, while Skylee Ohler handed out a game-best 29 assists. Dennicy Mota registered a game-high two service aces. Courtney Bordonaro led the Lion's defense with a game-best 15 digs, while Akemi Amoretti contributed 11 digs. Ohler held it down in the front row with three solo blocks.
