BMCC Men’s Soccer Falls To Ulster Community College In Region 15 Action On The Road

New York, New York – After a competitive back and forth in the first half, Ulster Community College made the most of their opportunities in the second half, using three second-half goals to defeat the BMCC men's soccer team 3-0 in Region 15 play a soggy afternoon in Accord, New York. The Panthers drop to 3-2-0 (3-2-0 Region XV) with the loss, while the Senators improve to 5-1-1 (5-1-1).

The Panthers were outshot 12-7 on the afternoon, and sophomore Abdul Mumin Seidu (Bronx, New York) helped BMCC between the pipes to give opportunities to break through after a scoreless 0-0 result at halftime.

The Senators wasted no time putting their stamp on this affair, netting three goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half as Ashaasea Sankofa opened the scoring with a marker in the 52nd minute to give Ulster Community College the 1-0 lead. The Senators tacked on two more insurance goals, with Dantae McDonald twinking the twine three minutes later to make it 2-0 in the 55th minute and Sankofa notching his second of the match in the 60th minute to increase the lead to 3-0, which Ulster carried into the final whistle taking the game.

Freshman Niklas Filippi (New York, New York) led the Panthers with three shots in the match.

Cody Baker picked up his second victory on the season for the Senators, while Seidu stopped a game-high four shots, taking the loss.

The road doesn't get any easier for the Panthers as they will look to regain their winning mojo on the road Tuesday, September 26, against No. 4 nationally-ranked Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York, at 6 p.m.
